Summary: Great book, but will students use it?
Comment: I think this is a great book and I'll be using it myself here when I teach two courses called "Learning Strategies for History. While I found it very useful, I'm wondering how useful a student attempting to use it alone would find this book. The suggested exercises are good but without feedback some motivation may be lacking. So, if you thought of getting this for your child or spouse or whoever who is having difficulty with a history course, do it but be willing to read it with them and give them feedback as they try to put some of the suggestions and information into practice.
