Summary: A must read for every American girl!
Comment: "All-American Girl" is the brand new book written by Meg Cabot, also the author of the famous series for teen girls, "The Princess Diaries".
PLOT SUMMARY: 15-year-old Samantha Madison lives in Washington DC with her mother, father, and two sisters (she's the middle child). Sam describes herself as total redheaded outcast--always dressing in black, listening to punk/rock music, etc. Her older sister, Lucy, is the most popular girl (cheerleader, nonetheless) at her high school and is dating the guy of Sam's dreams, high school rebel, Jack Ryder. Sam's younger sister, Rebecca, is a genius who attends a special school for gifted children. Sam's life abruptly changes when she saves the president of the United States from an assassination...while cutting her art lessons. Not only does Sam receive a broken arm, but she also becomes famous when the president himself announces that she is teen ambassador to the UN. Things couldn't get worse, right? Wrong! Because now she thinks the president's own son, David, may be in love with her and all she wants is for Jack to love her!
OVERALL THOUGHTS: I'm a little old for Meg Cabot's teen books but I must say that I am always amazed by her well-written/described characters and witty sense of humor. This book is well-written, and should be enjoyed by all teenage girls. If you like romantic-comedy novels with a little bit of fantasy twisted into it, then you should definitely read "All-American Girl". The plots are always simple, straight-forward, and a little bit predictable but it doesn't matter because these books are too good not to read.
I highly recommend "All-American Girl" by Meg Cabot.

Summary: Awesome!
Comment: A very moving book..Filled with Laughter,Love, and finding out not everyone is perfect. A real page-turner. Recommended to anyone who feels like they don't belong.
Samatha Madison (Sam for short) is just an All American Girl. Being stuck in the Middle of her Family isn't always easy. Her Older Sister Lucy is popular, pretty, and everyone at school worships her. Her younger sister Rebecca, is smart, cocky, and very witty. While Sam is average, artistic, gothic-minded girl who is just looking for a place to belong.
Sam has one true love. Jack, her Sister Lucys boyfriend is artistic just like her, and have many similar qualities, likes, and dislikes, Though she can never tell him how she feels. All the Emotions bottled up inside of her, waiting to explode at any given time. But her sister Lucy, has other plans. After snitching on Samantha about selling Celebrity art during German class, her caring Parents sign her up for Susan Boones Drawing class, where Susan says to draw what you "See" not what you "know"..Which leads to Sam saving the President from being shot by a Billy Joel freak who knew the song "Uptown Girl" too well.
The whole world screaming her name, Sam finds herself in a new world. Her sisters, Parents, and a snobby popular girl at school are now suddenly all on her side, and Sam begins to lose thought about whats important. Then she meets David, the Presidents son who is cute, fun, and knows what Sams going through. And Sam finds herself falling in and out of love with Jack, and giving her heart away to someone who truly wants it, and wants her.

Summary: hmm, all of it sounds familiar
Comment: there's no denying that the story is, well, to read is very amusing and entertaining. but that's about it, i suppose. coming from the author of the very nice 'the princess diaries' series where the protagonist is an outcast-nerd-rockclimber, tormented by a popular cheerleader and is transformed into pretty-eyebrow plucked-princess who gets the cute guys, 'All American Girl' is about an outcast-goth-artist tormented by a popular cheerleader and is transformed into cute-horse shampooed-hero who gets the cute guys. a story where you find popularity too fast too soon and try to stand up for your principles, not going in for the 'normal' way of teenage life along with your sidekick, the always-there, outcasted, pushy, climbing on your popularity, bestfriend.
the whole thing well, is cute. but it's not like you can't read it anywhere else. too stale storyline. predictable from the word 'chapter one'. cliches all around. not, to say, boring, but, it's better to read like, Robin McKinley or something.
