Summary: Could be a promising series....
Comment: Meet Jonah Black. By all outward appearances you would think that Jonah is just an average teenage boy. But rumors about him run rampant when Jonah starts back at his local high school, two years after he left for boarding school. Everyone knows that he was expelled from his boarding school, but no one knows why. Regardless, Jonah now has to repeat the eleventh grade, something which he is very unhappy about. In addition to this burden, he must readjust to both life with his family and life with his old friends. A lot of stuff has happened since Jonah left, and a lot of things have changed. Except Jonah. Everyone keeps telling him that he hasn't changed a bit. Or has he?

Through his diary we get a glimpse at his family life, his school life, and more importantly, his inner life. Jonah has a VERY rich and active imagination. But his imaginative life has just as many problems as his real one. Through out the novel Jonah switches between reality and fantasy in the blink of an eye. I was initially thrown when the switching occurred, but after I got into the book I didn't notice it as much. Jonah's stream of consciousness does take some getting used to, but it is well worth the read. With the diary format being very popular right now, it was refreshing to read one with a male perspective. By the end of the novel I did not learn any answers to the questions raised about Jonah Black. That was a bit disappointing. However, I did learn enough about him to want to come back and find out what exactly he is hiding. This book is a good start to what looks to be a promising series.

Summary: Jonah Black is a intersting person with a good story.
Comment: If you liked Angus, Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging then you will enjoy this book. Jonah Black is a teenage boy who has a wild imagination and will tell you what exactly he is thinking.

Jonah is back in Florida after spending two years at a school in Pennslyvania and is back to a differnt life then he is use to. He is now stuck being a junior instead of senior like he should be. He is also back living with him mom who is on a rampage about sex and trying to get Jonah to open up more. He is also having to deal with the fact that his younger sister is a senior and he isn't. And then there is Posie and Thorne his two long time friends who just want to know why he was kicked out of his old school..

But of course you can't forget about Sophie and all of Jonah's fantasys about her, but then again who is Sophie. I still can't figure out what she has to do with the story but I am sure that in later books we will find out, and I am also sure we have find out why he was kicked out of his school.

I can't wait to start the rest of the books in this series.

Summary: a mysterious mystery
Comment: This book was basically what i said- a mystery. The whole time there is a lot of stuff going back and forth. That was the only problem with this book. There are a lot of unanswered questions and the ending is obviously made so you'll go and buy the next book. Theres really no plot and really no climax its exactly as is -- a diary. I liked the way though he daydreams in his writing and writes what he wants to happen- kinda reminds me of a cartoon. I hope in the future books will do a lot more of explaining and start to speed up. Overall it was a good read though because you have to take in little hints to find out whats going on.
