Summary: One of the Best in the Series
Comment: In this book, Elena finds herself in a triangle between he vampire boyfriend, Stefan, and his vampire brother Damon. Elena knows that she should aviod Damon, but he keeps showing up at places where she is. Meanwhile, she and Stefan grow pretty close, and soon they are secretly engaged. Elena knows that she has so save him though because in the first book, her diary was stolen by her ex-best friend Caroline whos planning to read it at the founders Day Pagent. In her diary was proof that Stefan was at sight of one attack earlier in the school year. Now, I've told you more than enough, so go read the book.

Summary: hasn't improved much since the first volume
Comment: In the second book in the series, Elena and Stefan find themselves at the mercy of the powerful vampire Damon. Damon wants to destroy his brother and keep Elena for himself and there doesn't seem to be much they can do to stop him. Damon isn't the only danger though, Caroline, Elena's arch rival, wants to destroy Elena and she doesn't care if Stefan gets caught in the crossfire.

This series is still quite readable but it hasn't improved much since the first volume. Every time I find myself starting to like Elena she does something stupid or gets all weepy for no reason. Also, Elena and Stefan's supposed inability to fight back against anyone that is trying to hurt them is just frustrating and ridiculous. Another thing that keeps this series from being great is Damon, he's just not a very compelling villain. However, L. J. Smith's addictive writing makes this an entertaining, quick read and the series is still good despite it's flaws.

Summary: I always fall for the bad guy!!!!!
Comment: Everybody out there; I order you to READ THIS BOOK! It was the best vampire book I have ever read! I fell in love with the characters and the constant tension and twists kept me reading for hours. The plot is brilliant and I'm now officially addicted to L.J Smith's books (and they're vampires). I really felt for the brave and beautiful Elena, and Stephan is so handsom and sad it made me want to cry. But the character I love the most is definatly Damon, the evil and incredibly sexy evil vamp brother. I don't know about you, but I always fall for the bad guy, and this one is definatly HOT!!!And man does the end have a twist! It's totally brilliant and it's even exciting me (the girl who wants Elena to choose the bad guy over the good). So trust me (the girl with style) and READ THIS BOOK!!!
