Summary: Disturbing
Comment: I read this book on vacation, but I had to keep putting it down. There is some disturbing stuff in this book, and it makes you think twice about trusting minimum-wage strangers to prepare the food you eat.

I had no idea about the powerful group of a handful of organizations that are controlling the food we eat. If I weren't so lazy, this book would make me start a farm so I can raise the food that my friends and family eats....

Rating: 5
Summary: Became a vegetarian because of this book
Comment: I already knew that this country was a victim of Ronald McDonald but I had no idea how horribly the animals are treated in slaughterhouses - maybe the word 'slaughter' should have given me an idea. Because of this book, I am now trying to become a vegetarian. I cannot, with a good conscience, contribute to a world of cruelty and death to get a a 99 cent burger. We don't need this garbage that the fast food chains are selling us. There are other alternatives and this book inspired me to seek them out.

Summary: Dirtaaaaaaay!
Comment: After reading "Fast Food Nation", I admit, it's getting difficult to contemplate eating at anything with a clown taking my order. And I have found there are other options. We really don't have to feed our children the "food" from these places.

This is an excellent piece of work, well researched and convincing in its presentation. Very liberal, but it's all good. Perhaps the most frightening image I have taken from this book is Walt Disney and Ray Kroc cooperating from beyond the grave. It's difficult to even watch the McDonald's commercials advertising Disney tie-ins now.
