Title: Always the Bridesmaid by Sarah Webb ISBN: 0-06-057166-7 Publisher: Avon Trade Pub. Date: 17 February, 2004 Format: Paperback Volumes: 1 List Price(USD): $13.95 |

Summary: Don't waste your money.
Comment: Unlike some of the other reviewers, I actually read the entire book (but that's only because I can't just start a book and never finish it). Although, I'd have to say it definately wasn't worth my time.
I suppose the plot had potential, but the characters were a bit frustrating. Amy was unlikeable for me. She was way too moody and could be a real pain in the rear. Beth had way too much patience for her and Steve had a leash around his neck. There's no way a man would stand for all the crud Amy put him through.
The ending was a happy one and predictable. By the end though, I was just excited that I could soon begin a new book.
Rating: 3
Summary: A bit depressing but a good read!
Comment: Amy's life is not working out how she planned. She is going no where in her job, she is turning 30, she is single and everyone around her is either married or getting married. Her sister has brought home a hunk from Australia and is now engaged; her best friend Beth has gotten engaged to Tony her life in boyfriend. Then Amy sees her ex-boyfriends car in the drive of her best friend's house. She goes to pieces.
Amy is so unsure about herself that when a good looking man Stevie J. asks her out she continually drives him away. At least her career seems to be finally going in the correct direction, she is making sets for a children's show and they love her work. Maybe she just might get the dream job that she has always wanted.
You also get to learn about depression and how it effects how people deal with certain situations.
Rating: 5
Summary: Irish gem
Comment: I liked this book because it had real heart. The main character, Amy is less than perfect (are any of us!) but she puts her life back together by the end of the book. I liked her sister, Suzi and the wedding scenes too. I'd recommend this to anyone who likes a light, fun read and a happy ending.
