Summary: An excellent, honest book on fulfilling baptismal promies
Comment: As a pastor and father, I have found this to be a meaningful and useful book. It begins with an account of a very unusual baptism (unusual to North Americans, that is), and then places parenting in the context of living out the promises we make on behalf of our children at baptism. I have "required" many couples to read this as they have children baptized, and they have always found it meaningful. In an day when parenting is so often reduced to simplistic formulas and effective techniques, this book gives parents a true foundation on which to build meaningful relationships with their children, throughout life.
