Summary: Incomplete treatment of issues
Comment: I have reviewed critical articles and graphics from this book to determine whether it should be considered as a possible home school reference. Under the guise of neutrality, the editors and writers present only the humanist driven explanations of the creation of life and the science of genetics. Intelligent design perspectives and scriptural facts are missing from their scientific literalist presentations of cell biology. Most importantly, contemprary religious issues are not considered or clearly portrayed in treatments of ethical issues.I would not recommend this book as appropriate as a stand-alone reference resource for home school study. Summary: Great Collection
Comment: I got this book at a local bookfair for a considerable discount, however I feel that this book is worth the price they are asking. It has a wide selection of topics, everything from homosexuality to Hinduism, and Abortion. This book would be a great tool for reports and papers one may have to write. I read the entire book like a novel and I enjoyed it all, even though it is not meant to be read all the way through, it is setup much like an encyclopedia. Taking a neutral standpoint yet presenting all the evidence, both ethical and scientific, I give this book 5 stars.
