Summary: Good eating, AND healthy!
Comment: This cookbook made me a healthy cook. I had long been searching for healthy, low-fat recipes--dishes that I actually wanted to prepare and eat more than once--with very little success. With this book, I have added a dozen recipes to my regular repertoire, and every week, I try out something new. Not every recipe is a winner, but many of them are delightful, and some are really "wow" recipes. The abundant nutritional information with each recipe is really helpful.

Summary: Generally good recipes, with a few not-so-hot ones
Comment: I'm a big Betty Crocker fan, so this seemed like a natural purchase for me. And I haven't regretted buying it - the recipes are, by and large, great! Like another reviewers says, they don't taste low-fat or low-calorie - they just taste good.

However, about one out of every five recipes I try is a dud. Even if the recipe is loaded with flavorful ingredients, they seem to cancel each other out and leave a bland mess. And sometimes I feel the cookbook doesn't provide clear enough directions for the recipes, and as a result I get, well, bad results (incorrect textures, thicknesses, etc.) even though I'm more than a novice cook.

Still, don't let this stop you from purchasing this book. There are so many good recipes in it that I recommend it to anyone I know who's interested in eating in a more healthy way. Enjoy!

Summary: My Favorite Quick, Healthy Cookbook
Comment: This is a wonderful cookbook. The recipes are simple and use easy to find ingredients. The preparation time is very short and the food is very flavorful. Many of the recipes have a distinct regional flair to them, but are made with ingredients readily available in your local grocery store.

In short, my favorite cookbook for the busy cook looking to serve interesting, healthy dinners to his or her family.
