Rating: 5
Summary: a excellent book
Comment: The book is a little view of many of the oma proyects in the world. Is a very interesting book for architecture students.
Rating: 5
Summary: Throroughly Convincing
Comment: Once again A+U has organized and produced an architect monogram that's duly worth the price of the publication. This book is a must have for those of you on the forefront of architectural development and criticism. The essays alone are worth the price of purchase. The built works and projects speak for themselves.
This book highlights the poetic, yet submissive effect Koolhaas' work has tattooed on modern society. Not one living architect has pioneered a process of developing and defining urban architecture with the creativity and credence that OMA has. A perfect testimonial and affidavit on why the Pritzker Prize was awarded to Koolhaas.
Rating: 4
Summary: Koolhaas photographed
Comment: Architecture and Urbanism has done it again! This 280 page book is dedicated to the most recent recepient of the Pritzer Prize. It is packed with many of Rem Koolhaas' most famous projects. Built and unbuilt designs, such as the extension of the MoMA and competition entry for Parc de la Villette, are explained in over 100 photographic images. Pages 66-83 cover the controversial Seattle Public Library which was recently approved for final design planning and is to be completed by 2003. In addition, this title has a new essay by Koolhaas entitled "Junk Space." This will be considered a must have for architecture students and anyone interested in this Dutch based world class architect.
