Summary: A Lasting Investment
Comment: They don't seem to have a close-up of the cover of this book, which is a shame. It's one of the most striking illustrations I've seen, and strikingly apt for the subject.
Cho Chikun is arguably the best go player in the world today. But despite that (or maybe because of), his explanations and descriptions are crystal clear.
The book itself is a unique approach to life and death problems. The chapters are each devoted to basic shapes involving life and death in the corners. Within the chapters are sections, each approaching a different version of that shape, which increase in complexity as one progresses through the chapter.
Thus, a pattern drawn for the reader. Where many complex life and death situations can seen as outgrowths of much simpler ones. This simple ones can then be classified. Thus a map begins to form in the mind of the shapes of life and death and where ones strengths and weaknesses may lie.
I've never seen this approach in any other books yet. I hope it becomes terribly more common.

Summary: A great complete study on tsumego
Comment: Note: This book is *not* about "psychology" (Amazon classification), it's about the game of Go, and alive and dead patterns. "All about Life and Death" enumerates every single stone pattern around a given situation, and describes how it can be either killed or kept alive.
