Summary: OUTSTANDING!
Comment: This is one of the sexiest books I've read in a long time! The whole idea of a woman who does not hesitate to fulfill all her sexual fantasies is always intriguing. Also, the fact that she divorces her husband (because she doesn't want to cheat!) to do so is even more interesting. The author doesn't just throw it out there either. The way she portrays her main character, Mona, as insecure and doubtful about her motives (even though she's divorced, she continues to live with her ex-husband - you don't see that everyday) is very thoughtful and realistic. I highly recommend this book.

Summary: not quite what I expected
Comment: This book just wasn't quite what I expected. Although it's certainly adult fiction and the main character is completely preoccupied with sex, I wouldn't describe this as erotica... the sex scenes, although prevalent, just aren't all that hot the way they're described.
As a woman in a relationship with the same guy for 20 years (married for 15) I could definitely relate to a lot of the feelings that Mona described, but I don't think I'm selfish enough to put someone I love through what she put Clay through. Or maybe I'm too selfish to risk loosing what I have. Think I'll stick with living out my fantasies through erotic romance novels!
Don't read this if you're looking for a happy ending! It's more what I'd call bittersweet.

Summary: Interesting but somewhat radical.
Comment: I didn't expect Playtime to be so radical--non-traditional relationship story. But I found myself drawn into the character's motivation and loving what she was doing for herself--freeing herself sexually. It was such an interesting concept and not one I've ever seen in erotica before. I say good for the author for writing this book and staying away from the "typcial" storylines of "typical" erotica. I'd love to read another of her works.
