Summary: Truly Gifted
Comment: In 'After Life', we see the profound insights of a truly gifted author. Every word is charged with energy and beauty. Mr Edward has the unique ability to demystify esoteric concepts without diminishing their truth. A life-long learner and teacher, the author's clarity of vision commands respect. His 'journey' was recently revealed in a spellbinding interview with Jay Leno, during which Mr Edward epitomized his philosophy in this beautifully simple sentence: "Jay, I live inside my head, which explains why I'm always behind with the rent." And to the sceptics who cynically contend that talking with the dead is arrant nonsense, let me introduce you to the accountants over at Paramount. You WILL believe.

Summary: More of the same
Comment: Well, I've read all of John's books, and this one was the least interesting, primarily because it contains almost nothing new. John indicates in his introduction that he considers this book to be "One Last Time, Part II," and indeed it reads more like a continuation of "One Last Time" than it does anything else. I've watched the show "Crossing Over" many times, and still have questions about "the other side" that I thought John was going to attempt to answer in this book, since it is subtitled "Answers from the Other Side." I didn't feel like any answers were provided, but rather the information contained in John's other books was just reiterated through more readings and seminars. The truly redeeming part of this book is the last chapter, "Papa, can you hear me?" John's father died while he was writing this book, so John was finally able to discuss (which he had never done previously) his estranged relationship with his father and how even a medium has to deal with (or choose not to deal with) family conflict and disappointment. This chapter can be helpful and enlightening to those people who don't resolve complex issues with "loved ones" before they cross over, and really enhanced my picture of who John is personally. The book is a good read, but I don't feel it stands out in the same way that "Crossing Over" and "One Last Time" did.

Summary: Unresolved Feelings
Comment: One of the great features of this book by John Edward is his personal story of the difficult relationship he had with his father.
Reading his story and his belief in continuing the healing process even after biological death can be a significant comfort for those who never had the opportunity to say they were sorry, they really loved the other person, or whatever should have been said that never was.
I would recommend this book to anyone facing such a daunting task as continuing to live while a loved one died not knowing the depth of love left unsaid.
