Summary: Fun introduction to cryptozoology for very young kids
Comment: The author has linked various stories to give an overview to children about new animal discoveries and cryptozoology. Unfortunately, the author doesn't quite understand what cz is when "turning over stones" to look for lizards is mentioned as the number one example of what a cryptozoologist would do, and new vent animals are said to be what cryptozoologists are after. (Most cryptozoologists look for large animals mentioned in the local and native lore.) Some of it flows well, and kids probably will find it intriguing, being a nice first step for those looking to be challenged a bit more by their next cryptozoological text. It was truly unfortunate to see the old "Hollywood hoax" presented as fact for the Bigfoot Patterson Film, and included in a chapter on hoaxes. The book has a few problems but kids will love it. The publisher seems to have been afraid to use a better title.
