Summary: Well laid out and easy to follow.
Comment: This is a good book for a beginning crowd. It had very good content and was quite though. It guides you up to about what the AutoCAD modeling extents are (navigating the drawing environment, 2D sketching, non 3D spline (no compound curves nor NURB surface) models, and introduces you to the Mechanical Desktop features (the desktop browser, part and assembly history, and so on.) A good book for someone who is transferring from AutoCAD to Mechanical Desktop to learn their fundamental modeling differences. The book does have a few drawbacks however; one of the biggest being that there is no index, only a table of contents. Also, The more advanced features of Mechanical Desktop, such as NURBS, are not covered. My last issue with the book is that the plastic comb binding is a little cheap for the cost of the book. It is to small for the number of pages that it is trying to bind, so you need to turn your pages carefully as to not damage or tear them out.
