Comment: LIVING MIDNIGHT Three Movements of Tao by Jan Fries {Mandrake of Oxford £10.99 212pp} German writer Jan Fries is probably best known to British readers as the author of several exceedingly good books on rune magick and seidr. However, like many open minded Western occultists, he also has an interest in Eastern forms of magick. Many are drawn to Tibetan Budhism and/or Tantra, but Fries interest here is in the mystical Way of Tao and specifically the Chinese system of divination known as I Ching. This leads to an examination of the Taoist beliefs behind the system and its Gods and Goddesses. Highly recommended.
