Title: Hungarian a Rough Guide Phrasebook by Laszlo Jotischky, Lexus ISBN: 1-85828-304-3 Publisher: Rough Guides Limited Pub. Date: 01 May, 1998 Format: Paperback Volumes: 1 List Price(USD): $6.00 |
Average Customer Rating: 1 (2 reviews)
Rating: 1
Summary: Inflammatory
Comment: This is a terrible book, and the subject of several lawsuits. For example, the hungarian phrase meaning "Show me the way to the railway station" is translated to the english "Please fondle my buttocks," the hungarian "I would like to purchase some cigarettes" is translated "I will not buy this record, it is scratched" and the hungarian "How much does that cost" is translated to "Would you like to come back to my place, bouncy bouncy."
So for this book, my nipples explode with delight!
Rating: 1
Summary: Pitiful, avoid it at all costs
Comment: Rough Guide's HUNGARIAN PHRASEBOOK is one of the poorest phrasebooks I have ever come across. In fact, it isn't even a real phrasebook, but rather a slim dictionary with occassional cultural commentary. This was *totally* unhelpful on my trip to Hungary, and I feel sorry for anyone who has purchased it.
Bottom line: get Berlitz's phrasebook instead, but steer clear of this one.
