Summary: A Must for Any "Crossing Over" Fan
Comment: John Edward's personality shines through in his new book "Crossing Over: The Stories Behind the Stories." Readers of his first book, "One Last Time" will notice a bit of a shift in content. "Crossing Over" is chock-full of information about John's path into the public eye as opposed to the consecutive chapters of readings "One Last Time" contained. More importantly, it is written in a fashion that allows the reader to understand "at what price fame" and enables them to see that no matter where you are in your spiritual growth, there is always something new to learn and experience.
If you have been watching "Crossing Over with John Edward" on the Sci-Fi Channel since the first episode aired, you will be familiar with many of the readings mentioned in the book and enjoy the extra background. They are distributed throughout the narrative of his journey from everyday psychic medium to his present status of world-wide acclaim which the show has brought to John and his message.
This book is a MUST PURCHASE for any fan of John Edward or his show. It is full of behind the scenes information and gives a history of how "Crossing Over with John Edward" came to be. In addition, John shares his invaluable spiritual insights and infectious humorous sarcasm. You'll laugh, you'll cry, and when you get to the end you'll be looking for the new release date of his next book.
If this is your first visit into the realm of John Edward's works, I recommend you purchase "One Last Time" as well and finish it before delving into his latest work. "Crossing Over" is a little heavier read due to the nature of material discussed, such as the Leon Jaroff incident and other negative media events John has been faced with. [Note from Reviewer: The March 5, 2001 issue of Time Magazine tried to pass off an article by Leon Jaroff which was an obvious plagiarism of an "Inside Edition" segment on John Edward almost word for word.]

Summary: No Doubt About It...
Comment: I admire John Edward for telling his story despite the detractors all psychics have, and I look forward to reading more of his adventures in the metaphysical field.
I have only one problem regarding this book that made me give it 3 stars instead of 5. The time frame jumps around quite a bit, that it's difficult to follow what's going on sometimes. It's, like, "Where are we now?" or "Weren't we just talking about something else a moment ago?" The transitions aren't so seamless.
But as to the content of CROSSING OVER, it's not at all difficult to believe in a guy who talks to the dead. I come from the same world, although I conduct my readings differently, that's why I can empathize.
Wherever you are, John Edward, I hope you continue your work. My husband and I wish to meet you someday.

Summary: John Edward Uncommon and Special Gift
Comment: I found John Edward on the SCIFI cable channel because I'm a science fiction aficionado. I've read the best scifi authors books more than once and sometimes two or three times. OK, I am a Star Trek "junkie" too. OK, I also read books, many books and many authors.
That said John Edward on "Crossing Over" was way too good to be true. I have lost a grandmother that raised me, a mother that became my friend and regreted not being my mother, the brother that was my best friend, mentor, cheerleader and always challenger. He died of ALS, sometimes called Lou Gehrigs desease way too young. I was his DNR (Do Not Resucitate) "power of attorney." In those days (1981) a DNR had to be supported by a living person. They called and I said no because I had promised. Joe crossed over and left behind three children.
I watch John Edward on TV helping, supporting, educating and comforting those that have lost loved ones and I am comforted and validated.
"Crossing Over" the book by John Edward defines John's purpose in life, his trepidations of TV, and the televison communitiy that embraced him and his committment to his purpose. It's a very good read.
The book "Crossing Over" is the real, true, purposeful, committed and gifted John Edward.
All religions of the world have promised a spirtual life after life. All John Edward does is confirm those beliefs.
Read the book, watch John on TV, make your own decision.
