Rating: 4
Summary: There's the wrong way, the right way, and the Cisco way.
Comment: This book is Practical for the CCDA exam. Grinds out the Cisco methodology for design practice and mulls endlessly over protocol properties that few need to memorize....This of course makes it good for quick reference if you ever need to calculate the bit-time delay over a MMF network using class II repeaters with CAT5 interlinks. The case studies are good practice to get you in the mindset for the actual exam, but the questions always seem very open to interpretation.
Rating: 5
Summary: Excelent networking study guide.
Comment: This book proved invaluable in preparing me for the Cisco way of designing networks. You are stepped through how to evaluate, document, plan, and implement a Cisco network and what Cisco products are used to monitor that network. But don't expect to necessarily pass the test with this reference alone. To pass you will need an understanding of the topics covered in the ICRC and some of the ACRC materials. However, the book covers its topics very well and should be read by anyone wanting to have a future in designing a Cisco routed and switched network.
Mike Coffin, MCSE, CCNA, CCDA

Summary: This book is excellent.
Comment: I passed the CCDA exam recently by using this book for my preparation. This book has everything needed for the exam. It includes all topics, case studies, and a sample exam. Although it has too much details in some chapters, it is useful for you to understand the material better. The CCDA exam is rather hard. It consists of 4 - 5 case studies, topics about designing Cisco networks and internetworking technology. There are 72 questions within 2.5 hours. The lowest score to pass the exam is 755/1,000. Think carefully before answering the question because it cannot be altered again after that.
