Summary: I am so glad that I bought this book!
Comment: I really didn't know anything about Asian movies outside of Godzilla, Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan, but got curious after seeing Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. I started watching more Asian movies, but didn't have a good frame of reference for what I was seeing, and since so many of the directors and actors are credited with variations of their names, or anglicized versions, it was hard for me to keep track of what I was watching.
I am so glad I own this book! It makes sense of an enormous subject, with humor and an excellent attention to detail. The reviews are great, and the numerous sidebars, from Who's Who in Fu (parts 1 thru 5) to The Ultraman Family, and from a Salute to Sammo Hung to an explanation of the Yuens, this book has it all. And at 900+ pages, it better! I also loved that there is a category index in the back, so that I can pick a theme, like Beggars, or Cyberpunks, or Old-School Kung Fu, and find titles that fit that theme. And the cast index is very helpful as well. The forward by Cynthia Rothrock is great - she tells some great stories from her career.
This is the book for any serious fan of Asian cinema, or anyone wanting to become a serious fan. The only drawback is that I may never leave the house again - I have bookmarked hundreds of movies in it that I want to watch!

Summary: BIG Red Book!
Comment: This is by far one of the best books on the subject of Asian cinema, and maybe one of the best books about movies ever. And it's huge! Over 900 pages packed with over 1,000 reviews and many terrific articles, olus lots of pictures, detailed indexes and a foreword by Cynthia Rothrock (who kicks ass!). Definitely a bargain!

Comment: The most detailed book on Asian Cult Films to Date. This book is great and has a vast array of genres covered. Horror, Kung Fu/ Action, Chinese, Japanese, and many other asain countries films are covered. This book is a source for some of the best (and worst) films from the east. Many Images and sources as well like where to order films and website urls for further research. A must have and far superior to some other past books and Asian cult films. Get this book today it also has a bit of humor and subtitle flubs from films. HIGHLY RECOMENDED FROM US AT KYONSI!!!
