Summary: Pretty Good, But...
Comment: First let me say that I do like this book. As a political junkie and political science/history major, any book like this is excellent. However, CQ's Almanac does not hold a candle to the National Journal's Almanac of American Politics 2004 (AAP 2004). This book lacks the in-depth analysis that the AAP 2004 has. Another major issue I have with the CQ Almanac is that it does not have the gubernatorial analysis that the AAP 2004 has. On the other hand, there are some good things in the CQ Almanac. There is a lot of good trivia in this book, which is always interesting and good. Overall, this is a great book for any political junkies library, especially in an election year. It is another good book from the people at CQ Press, however, for a more thorough analysis of the states, districts, and elected officials, I offer the Alamanac of American Politics 2004 for your consideration.
