Summary: Simply nice and worthwhile
Comment: This is a classy little book and well worth owning and giving as a gift.Especially of you feel frustrated when it comes to giving a small gift of appreciation.

Just shy of 70 pages it is full of wonderful ideas. Chapters 1 is about Special Gifts for special occasions and includes classic ideas like a silver frame with the babies birth announcement ' collecting the signature of everyone in the wedding party and having them engraved on a silver frame for the wedding couple. Or for someone who has small children offering to baby-sit so the parents can enjoy an anniversary dinner out, or if the couple has been married many years, simply dropping them a note to say how much you admire their example of commitment.

I so loved her suggestion for helping children of single parents, by having the kids over and helping them make dinner for the parent as a surprise.

Or for a new neighbor, having some of the women write out a favorite recipe and then arranging it so 4-6 neighbors each make the dish as a house welcoming gift. I would also suggest this for friends who have a friend who is ill and unable to cook.

Or how about buying some lovely stationary, and stamps as a gift for someone whom you know loves to write. This is also a nice gift for an elderly relative and you can even pre-address some of the envelopes if you know they like to write to one or two people on a regular basis. Or buy a selection of lovely cards for special occasions along with stamps and give as a gift to someone who has a busy schedule but who would like to remember someone's birthday etc.
