Summary: Useful when used with Emanuel's flash cards
Comment: My law school ethics professor wouldn't deign to discuss the MPRE in class, and so one month before the exam I was getting *really* nervous. I got this book and the "Law in a Flash" cards and together it was a winning combination (I got a score more than 25 points above the California required score for passing the MPRE).

This book won't teach you the substantive rules - that's what the flash cards are for. But it will give you great tips about the way the MPRE is structured, and all the traps that the exam writers lay out for you. When I took the MPRE I spotted the traps and it felt great to know that I was avoiding them!

Additionally, unlike the other reviewer, I found the explanations of correct answers in the model test very useful.

Summary: I wouldn't waste my money.
Comment: I thought this book would be much more helpful than it actually turned out to be. The claim that they have answers and explanations to 50 sample questions, while true, is horse hockey. The answers to the sample questions simply reference the appropriate Model Rule. Don't waste your money on this book. Instead, I recommend that you get hold of the two-box set of flash cards (published by Emaunel, I believe) and spend a month or so going through them with a copy of the Model Rules in front of you. That strategy worked well for me and I scored a 120 on the exam, which is high enough to be admitted to any jurisdiction in the U.S. I have friends who waited until they attended the Bar/Bri review course to study and a large number of them didn't score high enough to be admitted in their jurisdiction of choice and will end up taking the exam again.
