Summary: A book for single women too!
Comment: I am only 17 years of age and any thoughts of marriage and children are far on the horizon. Naturally, when my pastor's wife recommended this book to me, I thought it odd. However, after reading A Woman After God's Own Heart, I discovered this is a book for all women, married with children or single with not the slightest thoughts of marriage. Elizabeth George may have intended to reach an older audience, but her novel offers much needed advice to younger women, like me, who plan to marry someday in the very distant future. I've always thought I would become the modern working mom and somehow beautifully balance marriage, motherhood and a successful career, but this book has changed my plans. After reading chapter after chapter of how a woman must manage her household wisely; honor and submit to her husband; and nurture and teach her children in God's Word, I realized that just being a wife and mother is more than a full-time job! Obviously, I had a newfound respect for my own mother after reading this book.
I think what really impacted me the most is Elizabeth George's life stories of how she slowly became the woman God designed her to be. At first, I couldn't see how a wife can completely submit herself to her husband and respond with an enthusiastic, no questions asked "Of course, honey!" to all of her husband's decisions, even a missions trip to Germany that would cause them to be separated for 5 months! That completely goes against the strong independent woman image the world is teaching young women today. However, as I began to read through Elizabeth George's transformation and each of the accompanying Bible verses, I found that a wife IS to submit to her husband. She is to help by supporting his decisions and not hinder by pouting when his decision is an inconvenience to her. Not only does Elizabeth offer her own experiences, but she talkes about the examples of other God-fearing women, like Ruth Graham, who were especially
encouraging to her. I think it's awesome how much God has blessed the women who continue to seek after His heart. I recommend this book to all the other young women out there who want to follow God in every areas of their lives. Not only is it a preparatory guide to how to be a godly wife and mother, it's a great preview of the blessings God has in store for those who seek Him.

Summary: READ THIS OVER AND OVER AGAIN
Comment: Are you serious about what God's will is for your life?Have you given your All to Him?If you are a sunday morning believer and a monday morning fence straddler, then you need to get serious and then read this book,but if you are truly saved and the greatest desire in your life is to seek Christ's will for your life-Then this is definately the book for you.Elizabeth George understands how God would like for the women of his church to be.It has inspired me to let people see Jesus in my life everyday.Her explanation of being humble and loving others does not make you weak-BUT makes you strong in Christ,storing up treasures in heaven rather than here on earth.Sometimes our priorities get a little out of focus and this book reminds you about what is really important-your relationship w/ Christ,your children,your husband,your family, and others you interact with on a daily basis.I have read this book many times and each time it refreshes my relationship with the Lord.Always remember-it is better to live a strictor life and make it to heaven than believe more leniately and possibly be wrong and not make it in.Elizabeth George has a blessed insight of Godliness in a woman's life.I can't wait to read all her books.

Summary: Wonderful Book!!!!
Comment: That's the reason my local Christian bookstore has a hard time keeping this book on the shelf! This book was nothing short of a tremendous blessing to me and I would recommend that every Christian woman purchase it. For the price of one movie ticket, your life can be tremendously transformed if you are open to receiving your blessings. I found every chapter helpful, esspecially the ones where she touched on things that I am weak in. Sometimes I'd have a little notebook next to me, because as I read I'd keep comming up with more and more things I needed to pray on. And do you know that within a few days I've seen wonderful, wonderful transformations and blessings in my life. The greatest blessing has been in my new and improved relationship with my son. I can understand how some may feel overwhelmed with our "assignment" as wives, mothers, women. But you know Elizabeth points out that through God's grace we are able to accomplish His will and purpose for our lives. And we must embrace that! Another thing is that I really loved how she admits her weaknesses in the book, reminds me know that I am not alone.
