Summary: My mother who laid the great cosmic egg
Comment: I never thought I would say this after giving it four stars, but I never laughed so loud before in my life. The two funniest parts: A.J. Drew dedicates his half of the book to Ki-lo-knee, the great teacher of Ti Kwan Leep. If you don't understand the joke, find a song titled 'Boot to the Head'. But wait, there is the second funniest part: Patricia Telesco quotes Milton's Paradise Lost as an example of friendship: "Taste this, and be hence forth among the Gods-Thyself a Goddess". It sounds great right? Well, it sounds great until you realize that she was quoting Milton's play and the character in that play who was speaking was Satan himself. The quote is Satan tempting Eve to eat the apple stating to her that she would be among the Gods if she did. As I recall, things didn't turn out that way and the example of friendship was a rather serious statement that many will miss. The rest of the book is about the same with tremendous amounts of wisdom hidden in between great huge jokes, which seem to have been disguised as serious commentary. In short, if you are well educated in classic literature as well as pop culture a la Doctor Dimento; this is the best bit of wisdom to hit the pagan community since Principia Discordia. However, if you do not have these prerequisites to its wisdom it will hit you like a feather. Fortunate, that feather tickled my funny bone over and over again. Now if you want to know about my mother who laid the great cosmic egg carved out of a tape recorder for mother's day, you will just have to read this book.
