Summary: You'll need several copies
Comment: As a therapist and trainer, I lend out this book so often that I need to have at least three on the bookshelf.Whether you are mom going through postpartum difficulties, a provider, or a family member, this book is invaluable. The fact that it is divided to address different providers and other supporters makes it extrememly useful. There are other good books on the subject, but I love this one by Bennett and Indman because it is so clearly written, so relevant, and so compassionate. They have accomplished quite a feat -- that the book is packed full of up-to-date information, and yet is relatively short. New moms will appreciate that it is concise and easily-held. Thank you for this book!

Summary: Great Resource for patients and Providers!
Comment: As a reproductive psychiatrist specializing in postpartum disorders, I can highly recommend Pec and Shoshoana's book to patients and providers alike. Postpartum depression and related disorders are still poorly understood by the public and professional communities. This book is straightforward and information packed. Very useful for patients diagnosed with postpartum depression or a related disorder, this book can be read in an hour. Professionals wanting to bone up on these disorders will find it similarly helpful. There is an extensive bibliography for those wanting to read more. Overall, a great contribution to women's mental health.

Summary: Terrificly informative in content and "real" to life
Comment: As a clinician wanting to learn more about prenatal and postpartum depression, I found this book right on target on many levels. "Beyond the Blues" is an easy read in terms of relatable language for all wishing to gain a better understanding of ones self experiencing , loving or helping professionally someone with lower or more extensive feelings of depression during and after pregnany. The book is thorough from assessment, treatment options available , specific dialogue both very thoughtful and helpful when not sure quite what to say or not say .....helpful resources galore and most of all shared real life stories! Great read! I plan to re-read it many times for reminders of the most significant guidelines and support for my ongoing learning and practice !!! Thank you...
