Summary: The Death of the South?
Comment: If an understanding of the Old South, the Confederacy and their relationships with Southerners are desired then read the writings of Michael Andrew Grissom. The Kennedy brothers are excellent in their interpretations of constituitional issues facing the Confederacy and the United States Government and other matters between North and South. However, Grissom is the ultimate Rebel.
This book discusses the future of the South as Patrick Buchanan's, The Death of the West, did for America and Europe.
Grissom takes off the gloves and pulls no punches explaining the undoing of the South, causes and effects. He does lean to the far right of Southern nationalism. The South has always been God-fearing and conservative. You may completely, mostly, or partially agree or disagree with his writings but you will gain insight to a scholarly Southern mind.
The auhtor still has hope that the South will still secede. It is too late for this but hopefully Southerners will unite, preserve their precious heritage and as much of the traditional South as possible.
