Summary: Found Art Lost Poems
Comment: This volume published by the then fledgling Inanout Press (NY & Rome) is not mass-market sized as commonly stated in these pages, but a small softcover in jacket art book comprising Ricard's found objects from his essentially homeless, addicted days living on the F train through Manhattan. Ricard had the BEST eye for objects, many of which he would embellish with paint & verse creating unique pieces with great built-in histories not unlike the urban ruins that still existed in late 80s Manhattan, or the mysterious Etruscan rites the title alludes to. Just one Petersburg Gallery show was the coming out of these works, and this fine book the only record. Small press printed in Italy obviously sparing no expense in color reproduction, an endangered species thus.

Summary: In your face and to the point
Comment: Rene Ricard, who was kicked from Andy Warhol's Factory in the 1960's and later became a critic for Artforum, now releases a selection of his in your face, up front poetry, a one of a kind genre. Ricard who later spent the 1980's roaming the Lower East Side, promoting such young artists as Francesco Clemente, Keith Haring, Julian Schnabel, and Jean-Michel Basquiat speaks of life in this world through his cryptic poetry. The tiny green, Trusty Sarcophagus Company, contains pictures of the expressive art poetry paintings with the poem typed on the adjacent page. This book should be read by anyone wanting to understand the truth in life.
