Summary: Expensive, cheap, short
Comment: This is a short book, about 18000 words, almost a pamphlet. For the price there isn't much content, and the book is cheaply made. If it cost $1 or were given away, I would give it another star. I read it in a day, by the end of the day the binding had already cracked, and the book was falling apart.
The ideas have some merit, but the book also has the flavor of an advertisment, pitching the author's website and materials there.
If you find a copy, or someone loans it to you, it's just about worth the time to read it. But it makes for an expensive purchase.

Summary: train yourself now. start with this book.
Comment: let me start by saying this is a small book. with about 90 pages, and half the size of a regular book, it is not your normal book. but what it packs within it's pages is a powerful idea of training yourself. taking charge of your training if you will. many people fail to realize that we really are in charge of our own education, an education that should not be taken for granted. training in the workplace shouldn't stop after initial on the job training or mandatory training. training should be something that you constantly work towards in your professional career. for some, this one idea alone is already radical, which is why i think this book is so important.
the book goes into detail on how to understand workplace knowledge, how to capitalize on your strengths, why showing interest at work is important and that you should always expect change. i give this book 4 stars, because the idea behind the book is so important, however, i would like to have seen more in-depth details. but on the other hand, that is what makes this book a good read, as it is easy to digest these concepts, without going into too much detail. training yourself is important for a person's personal and professional growth and this book will help to give you ideas to get started.

Summary: A tiny little book that anyone can read in 2-3 lunch breaks
Comment: I don't have much to add to the opinions expressed below, except for registering another thumbs-up feedback note. The book is very general, high-level, but nevertheless it's very rich conceptually; I don't know of a better--more succinct, more to-the-point introduction to the field of self study. This is another one of those I-wish-I-read-it-20-years-ago events, but, absolutely anyone will benefit from reading it in some ways, even someone with experience in self-guided study. A very worthy book, get it, you won't be disappointed.
