Summary: Best book on craps I've read so far!
Comment: I have read many craps books. The better ones will tell you to stay on the pass and come lines and place odds bets. This is you're best strategy. You really should ignore everything else because the house odds are too great on them. While you can't completely remove the house's odds, Frank Scoblete's book helps you to reduce them to an even smaller fraction. His 5 count system preserves your back roll but it is with the do/don't system that I think this book really hits on target. Using the do/don't system, I'm able to play in Caesars' with little actual money at risk and I usually walk away a winner. What's the do/don't system? Buy the book and find out. I have won thousands using his methods and I spend very little time gambling.

Summary: The Book That Keeps On GIVING
Comment: I read this book several years ago an I decided to read it again before reading Frank Scoblete's new book Forever Craps: The Five Step Advantage Play Method. As I found on my first reading, Beat the Craps is a superior book for craps players as it offers a workable method of cutting down on the number of bad shooters that players must face. It also helps to position youself for those few good shooters that come up every now and then. The book gives a general overview o craps for the novice and then goes into Scoblete's methods of play based on The Captain, a famous Atlantic City craps player. It is very worthwhile reading. I then read Scoblete's new book which is just a masterpiece. He really expands on the information in Beat the Craps based on over 10 years of play with the 5-Count method of play. Forever Craps is a must read and if you have never read any Scoblete I recommend you read his books in this order: Beat the Craps, The Captain's Craps Revolution (this expands on the information in Beat the Craps), and Forever Craps which really does offer an "advantage play" system as far as I'm concerned.

Summary: a cruel joke
Comment: Yes, other reviews will say that they used the system and won. Anyone can win at craps in the short term: if you've played more than once I am sure you've had the same luck.

But as you well know, mathematically, the odds favor the house. Notwithstanding the author's contention, no system improves anyone's odds. the chances of a seven coming on any roll are independent of what's happened on the prior rolls.

Put it another way: if the 5 count system works, why does the author write about controlling dice? If any system worked there would be no need to try to control a roll's outcome. In the same vein, if dice can truly be controlled, why must one use a five count system? His two basic suppositions contradict each other.

I go to Vegas to relax, smoke cigars and enjoy free cocktails. But for every person like me there's two or three that believe big money can be made somehow, some way, at some table game. Sadly, this books not only feeds that hype but pathetically profits by it.
