Summary: One of my all time favorite books but her others were not.
Comment: I loved this book and it gave me the paradigm to see my everyday world differently. I even went through my journals and saw what seemed so bad at the time, that it was for the best in the long run. I just loved her book and became totally absorbed by it. Her female character was strong and brave. After reading it, I couldn't wait to devour all of her other novels in print in 1999. They did not meet the extrodinary writing of Love to Water my Soul.

Summary: Human resilience and hope
Comment: Love to Water My Soul has become one of my all time favorite books. I recommend it to anyone who asks for a good book idea. Jane Kirkpatrick's writing shows the resilience of a child and as she grows, an adult. It brought me to tears of sadness, but then of joy. There are so many beautifully written scenes in this book, I had to copy them down in my journal to reread...my one surprise is that Hollywood hasn't turned it in to a movie yet!

Summary: Nice story, but a little slow in the beginning
Comment: This book tells a very nice story (summarized in other reviews). However, I had some trouble getting started with the book as I found it a little slow in the beginning. I found the writing to be a little bit "flowery" and sometimes wished the author was a little more direct. But overall a good book.
