Summary: Best book on religion I've ever read
Comment: I'm a guy who has tried just about everything in the realm of religion - even far-out stuff like Deism and Satanism. I didn't find any answers anywhere that satisfied the questions I had, and none of the churches I've ever been to made a heck of a lot of sense. In fact, I'd generally come to the conclusion that all religion was evil and that if the devil existed, he would have to be the inventor of all the world's different faiths. Then I happened to pick up a copy of Helen Keller's autobiography at the thrift store, and it mentioned that she had written a book about her religious beliefs. I immediately ordered it, and I've read it several times since. It didn't answer all the questions I have in my mind, and I doubt if any book can, but it came closer than anything ever has before. This woman actually made sense out of religion, and she was blind and deaf! It's enough to make a person ashamed . . .
Her books _Optimism_ and _The World I Live In_ are also very good and thought-provoking.
