Summary: A fascinating portrayal of society vs. an artist
Comment: The book is a very finely written novel that uses many plausable literary techniques. Thomas Mann uses Aschenbach to portray the place of an artist in our modern society and the amount of narcissism involved that can become fatal. A great novel indeed
