Summary: An excellent collection for family reading
Comment: This collection of legends is designed for school aged children to read alone, or for parents to read aloud. The tales are authentic Hawaiian folklore, not "disneyfied," touristy or cute -- but they are short, simply written, and child-friendly. Reading them aloud gives you a real sense of the power of storytelling... my seven-year-old sits spellbound, big-eyed and entranced, for tale after tale. I'm very impressed and pleased with the book.
