Summary: best baby "manual" on the market
Comment: ...not that I am the ultimate expert, but I am a first-time mom of a six-week old son and have relied on this book. This is the best baby "manual" on the market. It is much more readable, realistic, accessible, and comprehensive than the traditional "manual," What to Expect the First Year. Robin Barker does not have an agenda, nor does she preach.
Barker writes in a clear and accessible way, and Baby Love is organized in a clear, usable way. Barker also has a good sense of humor (Chapters titles "more about poo"), which makes reading Baby Love not only informative but engaging.

Comment: This book is great.
It really focuses on 'hands on' baby care, and gives lots of supportive options. You don't end up feeling like an outcast if you don't adhere to a particular theory on baby care.
I also like the way it is very easy to look up a specific question.
My mothers group now all swear by it - any question on baby issues always involves 'well, what does Robin say about it?"

Comment: This book has been very helpful. It was given as a gift and I wish I had read it 2 weeks earlier. I have a 4 week old and have used it as a reference and it has been helpful to know that things my baby is experiencing is normal and typical of newborns. I will pass this book along to other first time moms.
