Comment: I am assuming that the book I am reviewing is Abraham in the Negev by TD Alexander. At the time of writing this of this review, Amazon has failed to note the author's name. Alexander's book is excellent; it shows very persuasively the great weaknesses within the Wellhausen documentary hypothesis, especialy when applied to the narratives surrounding Abraham in Gen 17-22. Important reading for all those involved in the academic study of the OT.
