Summary: Highly recommended
Comment: This wonderful little book is part of the Usborne Spotter's Guides series, which are pocket-sized books intended for the (usually young) enthusiast to take along and identify things as they are actually seen. This book is for horse enthusiasts, and helps the reader identify the breed of a horse at a glance! It starts out with such things the history of the horse, colors and markings, points of interest, feeding, grooming and riding.
Then, the book gets to business. The horse and pony breeds are arranged first into categories (ponies, riding horses, harness horses and draught horses), with each breed described and then represented with a beautiful picture. A small, circular checkbox is included, so that the enthusiast can check off a breed as he or she sees it.
My twelve-year-old daughter loves horses, and bought this book with her own money. She loves to read through it, and look at the pictures. We both love this book, and highly recommend it to you.
