Summary: An Excellent Book!
Comment: As a student affairs professional, it is rare that I find a text about students that is both academically and emotionally rigorous. This is one of those rare gems. It's a very good read for anyone interested in working with and helping underrepresented students succeed in higher education.

Dr. Rodriguez intertwines her own life experiences as a first-generation college student with those of her subjects in a way that strengthens her findings and adds a human touch to the data being revealed.

This book comes strongly recommended!
