Summary: Response to response
Comment: If Constance Dejong is a sculptor, then why is she not teaching in the Sculpture Department, instead of the Small Metals department as she does? She primarily teaches the small-scale casting classes and heads up the Small Metals program. Metalsmith is every bit as noble a title as Sculptor. Also, considering that poor Gus died back in September, I do feel he deserves credit for his share of authorship for this book.

Summary: Response to the previous "reviewer"
Comment: First of all, I find it interesting that the previous "review" was written in September, when the artist's book did not arrive in the states until December. Second, the author is Arden Reed, not Gus Blaisdell. Third, Dejong is a sculptor, not a "metalsmith". The reviewer's attempt to detract from the quality and depth of this artist's book with a personal attack, pales in the face of a beautifully written, exquisite portrayal of an artist's life's work.

Summary: Treasure Can Occur in the Oddest Places
Comment: First of all, I would like to say that I am surprised (and pleased) by the quality of this book. I would also like to say that Constance DeJong is probably one of the rudest people I have encountered on the face of the earth (second only to author, Gus Blaisdell, who suffers from a total lack of regard for us supposedly lesser mortals). However I do love what Constance is able to achieve as a metalsmith. The photos attest to her ability and dedication. Brava!
