Summary: Fitness Book is a First Rate Resource to Get Into Shape
Comment: Over 20 years ago I read and enjoyed a couple of different books on martial art themes by Fred Neff. I remember practicing techniques learned from these books. Each of the books had basic exercises in them to prepare the body for the rigors of executing the martial art blows. These exercises were effective to condition the body for the training. Over the years, I have continued to do these exercises as part of trying to keep in shape. This year, a friend of mine mentioned how he used exercises from a book on Keeping Fit by a martial artist. It turned out that the author was Fred Neff. I got a copy of the book Keeping Fit: A Handbook for Physical Conditioning & Better Health and read it from cover to cover. This book was concise, practical and forthright in teaching how to achieve fitness. There was nothing revoluntionary in it just excellent advice and a progression of exercises at varying degrees of difficulty that should meet the needs of people just beginning an exercise program to established fitness buffs. Since reading this fitness book, I have been following the dietary advice and have built into my conditioning regime, all of the beginning exercises from the book. My body is more flexible, stronger, slimmer and better toned. Keeping Fit: A Handbook For Physical Conditioning & Better Health does just what its title says, it is a first rate resource for conditioning and better health.
