Summary: ho hum
Comment: bought it used, sorry ms. graham no money for you. Researching is hit and miss in this text, one gets the feeling that the author wrote the entire book without actually seeing any of the places or trying to actively conclude anything on her own. In teaching students, I frequently find the most eager students, the ones most likely to to try to find out what I want do end up with a fine mark, but never truly ask themselves the powerful, pertinent questions, and a question unasked definitely does not get answered. I read the other reviews and felt compelled on one hand to dismiss the angry review, but to wonder if the author or an author's friend wrote the other reviews... This book deserves to be 20 years old and have only a couple of reviews.

Rating: 5
Summary: Excellent research and writing
Comment: This was an excellent study of Peter Taylor. Perhaps the reader from Manhattan NY NY knows little about the South or Mr. Taylor. Excellent researched and a great help for any classroom studying Mr. Taylor's work.

Rating: 5
Summary: Ignore "a reader" and read the book.
Comment: This is an excellent book focusing on the work of Peter Taylor. I felt the book was very insightful and a "must read" for serious Taylor researchers. It is unfortunate that people with little expertise on such matters are allowed to write book reviews.I have found this book very useful in my classroom.
