Summary: Solid Overview of Real Estate Sales Career
Comment: This book accomplishes exactly what it sets out to do: provide a realistic overview of the life of a real estate agent. I am considering getting my license and found this book answered many of the basic questions about the job: the risks faced by a new agent, how to succeed in your first year and beyond, and the rewards of a long career. A good book if your just starting to do your research on the topic.

Summary: Too limited in scope
Comment: I didn't find this book very helpful. It has a lot of personal comments and one person's opinions on being a sales agent but there is no information about other real estate careers. To find out about other jobs like real estate appraisers and commercial real estate agents (where the big money is), look for the book called Real Estate Career Starter published by LearningExpress. It was much more comprehensive and included more helpful and specific info on real estate careers.

Summary: The Perfect Primer for the Real Estate Novice
Comment: After checking out Ken's book at the local library, I, like another new agent in our office, decided to buy it. And, was I glad I did! This easy to read primer is full of good information from beginning to end. The author's organization made the reading easy, and, for a new agent, it was a sensible step by step approach in how to get started in real estate. The "real life" real estate stories, and their use as "lessons learned", have been invaluable in my first few months in the profession. By reading some of these, I've avoided more than one rookie pitfall. Finally, while Ken provides important real estate advice, he also sprinkles in a bit of common sense guidance for success. This "golden rule" advice of serving others and keeping one's priorities in order is a good reminder of the importance of character values in a people business like real estate.
For those considering a career in real estate, or those who want to get back to the basics of what is fundamental to success in the business, Your Successful Real Estate Career is just the book to turn to!
