Summary: Excellent series of phonics-based readers!
Comment: This book is part of a 35 book series called Get Ready, Get Set, Read. There are 5 levels. The first two levels introduce short vowel sounds. The other three levels tackle long vowels and other word families. This is a great, systematic approach to reading. And the stories are fun!

One feature we really like is the word list in the back of each book. We use these lists to make flashcards. (Cheap hint - use computer-generated labels and plain index cards to make your own flashcards.)

I recommend buying the entire series.
