Summary: Hope for the financially lost!
Comment: I loved this book. I purchased it with big plans for New Year's resolutions...get out of debt. Unlike other books of this type I have read, I actually enjoyed reading this one! Mary Hunt covers the nuts & bolts of a sound financial plan in easy to read, concise terms. She uses her own life examples and lots of humor. I liked the fact that she made the concepts easy to grasp without being condescending or too technical for the beginner. Her book covers many different areas of personal finance without being too broad. And there are some great charts and calculators for creating very "livable" solutions to your money problems. I highly recommend this book to anyone struggling with personal finances, and maybe a new year's resolution or two!

Summary: The most dog-eared book in my bookcase
Comment: I ordered this book about a year ago, and read it with fascination. If this woman can get out of more than $100,000 worth of debt, surely I can get out of significantly less. I have since used Mary Hunt's advice to get my husband and I out of credit card and car loan debt, and pay our student loans down enough that we bought our first house! Now I'm buying this book for three friends/relatives, two in massive credit card and student loan debt, the other about to retire with no savings and a mortgage payment. I chose this book for them because I think her advice is practical, easy to follow, and a good financial plan for anyone. I highly recommend it!

Comment: This book and the author's website (www.debtproofliving.com) have really turned my financial life around. Such a practical, reasonable and "do-able" plan. After so many futile attempts to learn how to manage my money, I've discovered a way that really works--the debt-proof living way!
