Summary: Great Intro to Media Structures
Comment: This was the main textbook for my Mass Media class at Trinity University. It was a very interesting book which had a lot of good things to say. I had never conceptualized television and radio as a for profit industry with structures governing their behavior just like the steel or automobile industry. The book does not waste tim eon boring chapters full of gory details about this and that medium of communication. It looks at all media as an integrated system. It was a little dry at times, but not to much for me as an undergraduate. All in all I doubt I could have asked for a better book to introduce me to mass media.
