Summary: an entertaining story with a lot of laughs
Comment: Gordon Korman's story about a Mafia prince's attempts to lead a normal life and sustain a lasting relationship with a girl who's father happens to be the FBI agent bugging his house is both highly entertaining and gripping with it's fast-paced storytelling. Vince Luca swears that he wants nothing to do with his fater's 'vending machine business', because it has repeatedly caused him social disaster. However, when he does get involved in 'The Life' for what he feels is a legitimate reason, he gets tangled in a string of events that eventually overwhelms him.
The characters in Son Of The Mob are very believeable, such as Vince's New Media class teacher (complete with his 'Your Problem' catchphrase), and Vince's slightly annoying friend Alex, who wants nothing more than to use Vince's Mob connections to set himself up with girls. The author's dry sense of humor kept me turning the pages of this book; the satirical remarks the characters make were, in several cases, laugh-out-loud funny. And although the ending was a little predictable, the plot still had a fair amount of twists and surprises.
Son Of The Mob was a very enjoyable story with a great sense of humor and style. Korman keeps the jokes coming and the story flows consistently with suspense the whole time. Although I think the ending could have been a little better, I would definatley reccomend this book to anyone looking for a funny story with an entertaining, unsual plot.

Summary: Son Of The Mob
Comment: Vince Luca is is a 17 year old High School student and happens to have a family that is part of a Mob but Vince wants to different he wants to build a life for himself and not have to depend on his "family". And who would not want a best friend that wants to score through you and is around all the time. One thing seems to go right when Vince meets a girl from school at a party and ends up helping her to get away from a guy that has had to much to drink by telling him that Kendra is his girlfriend, but it turns out what Vince thought is what he need in life turned out to be a pain because Kendra's dad is an FBI agent who happends to be investigating Vince's father and his "vending machine" business and Vince can not be seen with Kendra in front of her father so they only see each other when they can be alone. This book is similar to a Romero and Juliet story with its own little twist. I recommed this book for High School students in the 11th and 12th grade..

Summary: Great!!! awsome read!
Comment: I just finished reading this book, and all though the writing is a little bit ackward in some areas, the story line is fantastic. Vince's family is in the "vending maching" buisness, but Vince wants no part of "the Life". Instead he makes an honest attempt to stay sane and in good terms with the law. This all changes when he meet's his new girlfriend who's father is an FBI agent, who just happens to be bugging their house!! Vince has to find out some way to hide this from his parents, and never let her dad find out he's the son of "Honest Abe Luca"
