Summary: Surprisingly Helpful
Comment: Many books that address human need are a little helpful, or apply a little bit. This book by Dr. Thurman is exceptional in its scope of usefulness. It is very easy to read and straight forward with its insights, one does not have to guess the conclusion that the author wishes you to find. Each point is illustrated with a story from the doctors practice. This is very helpful is seeing how to apply that chapter.
The book is soothing to the soul of those with a damaged heart. It is also a wonderful resource for those wishing to be helpful to others with a damaged heart.

Comment: Dr. Thurman provides an excellent resource for Christian Counselors who practice from a Rational Emotive or Cogntive Therapy perspective. He provides sound, biblical responses to distorted thinking. His ten biblical truths provide an excellent resource for dealing with dysfunctional schemas.
