Summary: Info quality great(!), software very poor.
Comment: There's no way to mark questions, as there is with premium-quality testing software. The user interface is incredibly klunky and unforgiveably untested: you have to select an answer among radio box choices, and then click two more buttons if you want immediate feedback, and click yet another for the explanation. It uses your web browser as the interface and reads one question at a time from the CD, so it's slow. The questions aren't numbered so you can't tell where you are. After answering the last question (you have no idea it's the last question because the questions are unnumbered), it wraps around to the first question; at that point if you click "grade test" IT ONLY GRADES THAT FIRST QUESTION OUT OF THE SIXTY YOU JUST ANSWERED, AND THERE'S NO WAY TO GO BACK! LOL So it leaves you with no way of knowing how well you did after all that work! They also included unnecessary "bells & whistles" like choices for skins (juvenile, who cares?) and sound effects.
Once I was about 2/3 of the way through a test I had done before and remembered all the answers so I clicked "Score Test." It said, "You answered 1 questions out of total 50"! LOL After answering every question in another exam it said, "You answered 14 questions out of total 50."
It is easy to unknowingly skip a question without answering it by double-clicking because the questions take so long to load from CD. There's no option to download them to your disk.
I had to call their support line to get it to work on my office PC; turns out that was due to Symantec Desktop Firewall.
I still give it four stars because the material (for the architecture part) is accurate! Hallelujah! This does not hold for most Oracle test prep products. The questions are also appropriately (sensibly) worded.

Summary: Corrections please!
Comment: I have found numerous incorrect statements, explanations and answers for the practice tests. This product was released in May 2001 and as of yet Sybex has no errata or corrections available for download on their website.
Since this is a test prep CD it's imperative the information it provides be 100% correct! Errors can be expected when something of this nature is first released but their failure to provide corrections is inexcusable!

Summary: Not the best product
Comment: I used the cd only for the first exam so far, but I have to say that I'm not very pleased with it. Not many questions about PL/SQL and lots about group functions. Further on it would have been nice to get some question numbers, so you can see where you are concerning the timing.
Overall, not a success.
