Summary: Best I've Seen on Intro to Networking in Windows
Comment: This book is a great find for anyone who knows about PCs, but doesn't know anything about networking. Gregg moves from simple networking concepts (including how to justify setting up a network - valuable for convincing the boss), to the complexities of network protocols. His experience in the industry (including at Microsoft on the Windows NT project) and his humor show through and make it an interesting read. The focus of the examples is on Windows 98, but they apply (at least conceptually) to other Windows versions. Windows 98SE Internet Connection Sharing is not covered in this book. If you already know networking, this book is not for you. But if you want to learn networking from "square one," this is the place to start.
