The book deals with theory and application. The second edition has an increased emphasis on the teacher as facilitator, shift from teaching the ill to promotion of health and prevention of disease. A chapter about technology has been added. Each chapter starts with chapter highlights, key terms, and objectives and ends with a summary, review questions, and references.
